Hijab in the Avatar Builder
Available from today forward, within the female avatar builder, is a colour-selectable hijab. Special thanks to the young ladies at Helen Detwiler for pointing out the unintentional omission. Your voices have triggered further discussions around ensuring that everyone within the HWDSB Commons can represent themselves accurately. We continue to work with the artists at http://doppelme.com to ensure equity within our avatar builder. Stay tuned for further additions, and feel free to comment below if you have ideas about items that need to be added to the avatar builder to ensure everyone within HWDSB can proudly create a digital presence.

Thank-you so much for your efforts, Mr. Bennet! This is excellent; my students are so excited! Yet another fine example of how the HWDSB isn’t simply a board with diversity – it’s a board that includes people through its diversity.
I am very very proud right now!

I am very excited to see the hijab added to the avatar builder here in the Commons. This is an inclusive environment for all and we are so happy to provide it to you. This is a community for all of us, and to repeat @jarbenne please “…comment below if you have ideas about items that need to be added to the avatar builder to ensure everyone within HWDSB can proudly create a digital presence.”
